WWAST Testimonials

Having the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team play the team of celebrities this year was one of the highlights of our season. It is amazing to see these young men give their all and display their true athletic ability and heroism.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team came to Huntsville, AL. They played three games against locally assembled competitive teams. The results do not matter, and now, are of little significance. Because, something happened that transcended softball. The impact these young men, these warriors, had on the community was instant, not predicted, and profound. What was introduced to the community was a group of inspirational war heroes that happened to also be great accomplished athletes. They did not elicit sympathy but admiration and pride with the realization that these young men not only represented their respective services, but more significantly, proudly represented each and every citizen of the community. They reaffirmed what all who have served understand. Our servicemen and women are our Nations prized assets and The WWAST represents a new generation of heroes. They routinely can do the unexpected with little effort; only the impossible requires work! In my many years of service, I have not witnessed a group of servicemen that so proudly represented their service, their sport, their country, and themselves than the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team. Their spirit endears them to you instantly. As someone correctly stated, they are becoming “America’s Team”, a privilege so rightfully earned.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team are truly amazing and heroes. It was such an honor to host them and have them come to our hometown of Sulphur, LA. We are beyond grateful and in debt to them for all they have sacrificed. They are all so inspiring and have touched my life in a special way as servicemen and now seeing all they have overcome and continue to overcome on a daily basis.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team’s motto is “Life Without a Limb is Limitless.” At Össur, ours is “Life without Limitations.” While our respective organizations do very different things, we stand united on this common ground. The fact that the WWAST uses the devices Össur makes to compete against – and more often than not, beat able-bodied teams makes us proud. But the fact that the WWAST also transcends the gap separating able-bodied from “disabled”, uniting people in the process, speaks to the broader and transformative effect this team has had on the United States. We are honored to sponsor the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team came to the Police Softball.com World Series and instantly became the heroes of 1000 police officers. Police officers are a group that doesn’t impress too easily but now we all have someone to look up to.
